On Friday 3rd January 38 pupils and 7 staff travelled to Saalbach in Austria by executive coach and ferry.
The pupils from Year 10 and 11 experienced 6 days of challenging skiing in the extensive skiing complex known as Saalbach Hinterglemm. After an extraordinary first day skiing in rain the groups progressed to be able to journey around most of the resort in their ability groups. Despite being the first week of January we were experiencing spring like conditions and warm weather. By the end of the week the advanced group were skiing black runs and the beginners were snaking down blue runs at great speed.
The group were complimented on their behaviour and positive attitude by the Hotel owners, the ski school and the coach company. The staff were proud to be able to offer a great experience for our group and are already looking forward to the next trip.
