England vs Sri Lanka ODI decider.

THS were offered tickets for the One Day International cricket game between England and Sri Lanka on Tuesday night (3rd June). The score in the series was tied at 2-2 and this was classed as the deciding match.

The tickets were offered to us by Tom Rawlings, an ex Tenbury High School pupil, who now works as the communications manager at Edgbaston cricket ground.

We accepted the offer for the tickets and took 14 lucky pupils.
The pupils...and staff were really excited travelling to the game. Some of them had never seen a cricket match before let alone a match of this level. What an experience, being able to say that their first ever cricket game was watching an English ODI.

Having got underway, the pupils, were soon joining in with the spectator songs between overs, and dancing; although, the dancing was an attempt to make the big screen.

Even though there was the odd controversial wicket, England lacked an attacking mode towards the end of their innings and silly dismissals may have cost them the game. Despite the loss, the memories and experience that the pupils will take from this game was the main aim of the trip.

Below are some of the pictures from the match. See if you can spot the Royal Family.
