Year 8 Football

The year 8 football team played Weobley yesterday (24th Feb) in preparation for their football tour next weekend (6th - 8th March) in York.
This is an annual trip that the school have been running for many years.

The team got off to a slow start and soon found themselves 2-0 down; playing against the wind and up the slope contributed to the hesitant start. However, they soon found themselves back in the game when Leo Williams scored and Matty O'Hagan was brought down in the box. Luke Bufton slotted home the resulting penalty, levelling the score.
Weobley responded and THOA were caught napping again when they conceded two further goals, making the half time score 4-2.

The second half started brightly for the team when Matty O'Hagan scored within minutes of the restart, making the score 4-3.

Unfortunately the team found it extremely difficult defending against their fast striker and managed to concede a further 4 goals.

The team showed great character and never stopped until the final whistle.

Well done!
