Sport Relief 2016

As you may have heard it’s ‘Sport Relief’ next weekend Fri 18th - Sun 20th March and the PE  faculty plan on running a few events during the week leading up to it.  There will be a non-school uniform day on 18th with a sport related theme. Donation of £1.

What is Sport Relief? Where does the money go? Who does it help?

Our young people will be collecting sponsors for a sport relief mile and a ‘row-athon’. The sport relief mile will be held during their PE lessons and can be performed in fancy dress; the ‘row-athon’ will be run before school, during break and lunch times and after school throughout the week (this will also be a house competition to see which house can row the greatest distance).

Year 7s - will be completing their mile during period 4 on Tuesday 15th March following their gym/dance or swimming lesson, period 3.

Year 8 boys will be completing their mile on Monday 14th March during period 3. Girls will have their rugby lesson on Monday  and will not be able to perform the mile on Wednesday due to the science trip. This means that girls can perform the mile, if they want to, during a lunchtime or after school; they could perform it on the rowers during the week.

Year 9s will be doing the mile on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th March (period 5 on both days).

Year 10 – on work experience
Year 11 – Year 11 will be completing the mile during their PE lesson on Friday 18th.
