Duke of Edinburgh: Cycle Expedition (Practice)

During this weekend (Fri 4^th – Sat 5^th April) 6 year 11’s completed their D of E practice expedition, cycling around the Worcestershire and Staffordshire Canal towpaths and disused railway lines around Wolverhampton.

They began Friday’s journey in Stourport, making their way to Kinver, where they cooked their own hot meals and set up camp for the evening.

On Saturday they cycled to the Kinver lock where they met up with Mr and Mrs Cartwright; who showed the boys how the canal locks are used, using their narrow boat.
They then continued on their journey to Swindon, Wombourne and Himley.
