Now the summer holidays are upon
us, we can finally look back on the last three weeks of a very busy term.
On
Monday 7th July we held our annual sports day which took place throughout
the day. The forecast had predicted a bright and clear morning with a chance of
rain in the afternoon. All field events were performed in the morning with the
track events scheduled for the afternoon; in front of the whole school.
The morning was a huge success,
however, the rain clouds had swiftly moved in, during lunchtime. The sudden change
in weather didn’t put us off. So many schools would have cancelled but at THS,
we have an indoor plan.
Thanks to the Kingspan Trust the
school was given a grant, which allowed us to buy a complete set of indoor athletics
equipment. This was the perfect chance to put it to good use.
The scores throughout the day
were neck and neck and the final scores were so close. The results were:
1st – Red Marauders
2nd- Jade Warriors
3rd- Aztec Golds
4th- Blue Barbarians
