A special well done to Leah Jackson who was selected to represent the county team.

County Athletics

Well done to Oliver Yarnold and Cameron Wait for being selected to compete in the County Athletics Championships at Nunnery Wood on Tuesday 27^th June.

Oli competed in the long jump and finished in 3^rd place with a jump of 4.67m.

Cameron managed to clear 1.37m in the high jump and finished in joint 3^rd place.

Allan Watkins (javelin), George Read (1500m) and Jacob Rowe (100m) were also selected to compete but were unable to make it due to the German trip and a family holiday.

Basketball

Well done to both KS4 basketball teams who won their first games.

Year 10s beat EMC 34-8.

Team: Theo Houchin, Matty O’Hagan, Zac Francis, Luke Bufton, Ben Hackney, Finley Houchin, Dan Coupland, Luke Robson

Year 11s beat Hereford Academy 32-23.

Team: Tom Newall, Ethan Fish, James Franklin, Oliver Wallace, Matthew Jordan, Max Arwand, Alexi Panagiotakis.

District Cross Country Championships.

Well done to Leah Jackson and Hannah Lancaster who competed at The Leominster District Cross-Country Championships on Wednesday 11^th January 2017 at Lady Hawkins’ School.


They came 6th and 1st respectively and will now compete at the County Championships on Saturday 21^st January in Bromsgrove.

County Athletics

On Saturday 11th June, Nunnery Wood held the annual county athletics championships.

From THOA, Tom Newall and Hannah Lancaster represented us in the high jump and 1500m, respectively.

Tom managed to clear 1.55m and finished in 6th place. A great effort from Tom who is already looking forward to qualify for next year's event.

Hannah won her race with an outstanding finish. She was right behind the leader for 1300m and managed to overtake with an amazing sprint finish to become county champion.

 

She will now represent the county at the inter-county championships at the Alexander stadium this weekend (18th June).

Congratulations

Well done to Lily Robinson for representing the District at the Minor County Championships, held at Nunnery Wood on Thursday 25th June.

Lily ran in the 100m finals after getting through the heats. She came 4th overall with a time of 13.6 seconds.

Well done to the following pupils who competed in the Hereford & Worcester County Athletics event at Nunnery Wood on Saturday 13^th June.

County Athletics competition

On Saturday 14^th June was the annual county athletics competition, held at Nunnery Wood sports complex in Worcester.

This year THS had 5 competitors advance from the district round, making the selection for this year’s county team.

Alfie Watts – Long Jump (could not make the county due to other sporting commitments)
Hannah Lancaster – 1500m
Sienna Lywood – High Jump
Tom Wall – Discus
Verity Van-Straaten -

Results
Hannah come 7^th overall out of 13 competitors, the majority being year 9 pupils (a year older).
Tom Wall came 5^th, throwing 21.98m
Sienna had to pull out of the competition early due to aggravating an old injury.

Well done to all pupils for qualifying for the county. A great achievement!

Following a successful district cross country championships recently these pupils have been selected to represent the Leominster District in the Hereford and Worcester Schools Cross Country Championships.

Junior Boys: Jordan Morris, Toby Prentice, Frankie Boyle
Inter Girls: Amy Reynolds
Inter Boys: Lee Parker, Giovanni Calandra

Race times are as followed:-
Junior Girls: 10:30am
Junior Boys: 10:45am

The competition will be held at the Hereford Leisure Centre / Racecourse.
