Girls' rugby opportunities

 A 'pitch Up and Play' event is happening at Greyhound RFC on Sunday 20^th March, 1:30pm start. This is an informal-styled event where players can literally, just ‘pitch up to play’

We’ll also be doing our best to cater for all formats of the game so if a player likes the thought of rugby but not necessarily the contact side, we will be running some touch rugby games (non-contact). For those that have enjoyed tackling, we will obviously be able to coach this aspect of the game too. There will also be an introductory session for those that have never tried contact but would like to give it a go!

Year 5 & 6 tag rugby competition

We held our annual tag rugby tournament for the primary schools yesterday and had a great turnout. Schools included: Tenbury, Lindridge, Burford, Clifton, Abberley, Martley, Great Witley and Orleton.

The tournament’s aim is to have fun and introduce pupils to the game. There was some fantastic rugby being played and FUN was definitely present.

Well done to all the teams for taking part in such a fantastic tournament!

Congratulations to Martley and Orleton who made it to the final and after the 8 minutes, the score was tied at 3 tries each. It was decided that because the game was so close and the standard was superb, both teams should take the winners medal.

One parent commented, “As a parent thank you very much for the rugby tournament yesterday! My son… loved it.”

We'd also like to thank Kit Garbutt and Joel Stones for volunteering to help out.
