Indoor athletics

Well done to all the Primary schools that attended our indoor athletics competition on Wednesday 25^th January. The competition included 6 primary schools and over 150 pupils, which was eventually won by the Lindridge boys’ team.

Following the primary tournament, we also held the Secondary Indoor Athletics Championships which included year 7 & 8, male and female teams from The Chase, Chantry and THOA.

Congratulations to the year 7 boy’s and year 8 girl’s teams who will now compete in the Worcestershire Games at The University of Worcester.

Primary Football Festival

Thank you to all the primary schools that took part in our annual football festival last night (19th March). It was a huge success.

We had 7 teams for the yr 5 / 6 festival who all experienced some success.

Also, a massive well done to our sports leaders who did an exceptional job, they included: Jamie Farrar, Ethan Fish, Jamie Thackary and Joel Stones.

Worcestershire Winter School Games

 

Well done to the year 7 girls who were selected to represent West Worcestershire at the University of Worcester; they took part in the indoor athletics, against the best of Worcestershire.

After competing in a number of track and field events, the girls finished in 6^th place and did extremely well in all their events.

 

 

Also, a huge well done to our year 9 leaders who helped run the event and made the whole day possible.

 

The leaders were divided into two groups.  Three pupils helped with the athletics and did an excellent job.

 

The rest of the leaders helped with the new age curling. These pupils included: Kaitlin Leadbetter, Ella Snape, Megan Ward, Euan Morris and Chris Hill

 

Well done to all our pupils.

 



 

Year 5 & 6 Netball tournament.

Last Thursday (2nd Oct), primary schools from all around the area attended our annual year 5 & 6 netball tournament. Schools including: Burford, Tenbury, Clifton, Great Witley, Abberley and Lindridge attended  and the event was umpired by  our pupils in year 8&9.

The whole event was a huge success!

 

Worcestershire School Games

On Tuesday 6th March a team from Tenbury High School competed in the School Games, held at Worcester.

The team took part in two separate events, known as, boccia and new age kurling. In addition to the  competitors we also took a team of sports leaders, who helped run the activities being held.

After missing out on the medals in the boccia event, the team stepped up their game and performed exceptionally well in the new age kurling. Their team work, accuracy and motivation was brilliant and they were rewarded with the 1st place, making them the Worcestershire champions.

After receiving their medals from the sports leaders the celebrations began.

Well done to all the pupils who competed. A special thank you has to go to the leaders, who were fantastic and really made the event possible, with their enthusiasm and leadership skills.

Year 8 Bockleton Trip- Sundays activities.

After a very busy day on Saturday pupils were rewarded with an animal display, which included a range of exotic wildlife.

 Following on from the animal display, pupils had chance to go outdoors and take part in some additional outdoor activities, as well as have some leisure time around the grounds of the Study Centre.

 

Well done to all pupils, including the young leaders who made the weekend so successful.

Year 8 Bockleton Residential

Over the weekend (Sat 8th & Sun 9th Feb) THS and Café 27 arranged for 41 year 8 pupils to visit Bockleton Study Centre where they joined in with a range of fun outdoor activities. These included orienteering, tunnelling, low ropes obstacle course, crate stack and power fan to name a few.

Alongside the year 8 pupils, there was also 8 young leaders from year 9 and 10, who all attended the same weekend when they were in year 8 themselves.

Pupils arrived at the centre at 9:30am on Saturday and were shown to their rooms by some of the young leaders. After everyone had arrived and introduced to the staff they were divided into four groups where they spent the day completing the activities listed above in a rotational set up; two activities before lunch and two after.

Pupils were a credit to the school and went about completing these activities in the most positive way possible, despite the windy and wet conditions; especially in the afternoon.

After completing the activities pupils made it indoors, got into some dry clothes and enjoyed a hot chocolate. They then had some down time before their evening tea and a game of big prize (haribo sweets) bingo.
