House football for the year 7s will start this week (Wednesday 1st Feb) and run for 4 weeks.
The year 8's competition will then continue on Wednesday 8th March.

Girls' rugby opportunities

 A 'pitch Up and Play' event is happening at Greyhound RFC on Sunday 20^th March, 1:30pm start. This is an informal-styled event where players can literally, just ‘pitch up to play’

We’ll also be doing our best to cater for all formats of the game so if a player likes the thought of rugby but not necessarily the contact side, we will be running some touch rugby games (non-contact). For those that have enjoyed tackling, we will obviously be able to coach this aspect of the game too. There will also be an introductory session for those that have never tried contact but would like to give it a go!

Cross Country

Fabulous news - Hannah Lancaster in Year 9 has been selected to represent Herefordshire and Worcestershire at the English Schools' Cross Country Championships at Witton Park, Blackburn on Saturday 14th March - this is a fantastic achievement - please join us in wishing her good luck!!

2015 Netball update

It’s been a great season of netball so far at THOA. This half term alone there have been approximately 15 netball matches (including one for the Tenbury teachers vs Lacon Childe teachers) AND two tournaments!

 

Yr 7 & 8 played Lady Hawkins on the 15^th January and Bishops Bluecoats on the 22^nd January. The Y8 netball team haven’t lost a game so far this season! Y7, although they lost, played their best netball so far this year.

 

Unfortunately on the 20^th January, as the U16, U15, U13 & U12 were about to leave for Lacon Childe a snow blizzard stopped travel and play! Matches to be re-arranged.

 

Y8 & Y10 played two fantastic matches against QE Bromyard on the 29^th January – two more successes.

 

Lacon Childe visited us at THOA on the 4^th February to play a U14 & U13 matches and once again the Y8 and 9 teams kept a clean sheet! Excellent!

 

When Lucton visited us with their U14, 15 & 16 teams on the 4^th February we came away with a win for the U14 & 16 and a near miss for the U15 team.

 

On the 10^th February the Y7 team played their first county netball tournament at Hereford Academy but unfortunately lost in two very close netball matches against John Kyrle (1-1 draw) and Hereford Academy (2-1 loss).

 

On the 11^th February the Y8 team played in the Herefordshire School Games. This was held at The Point 4 in Hereford – an excellent indoor venue. The Y8 team won their two first two matches against Earl Mortimer (9-2) and Lady Hawkins (4-2) but were unfortunate to miss out and lose to St Mary’s (1-5). Well done for coming second in your pool! Excellent work!
