National Cross Country results.

Well done to Hannah Lancaster who recently competed for Hereford and Worcestershire cross country team, in the National Schools' Cross Country Championships. The race took place on Saturday 18th March 2017

She had a great time and finished 4^th out of the Hereford and Worcester team. She also ran the 3750m race in 14.36 minutes which she was really pleased with.

The weekend before this, Hannah also raced in the UK national cross country championships for Shropshire and finished 1^st out of the Shropshire team despite losing her shoe half way round!

A massive well done for her success this year!!!

Basketball

Well done to both KS4 basketball teams who won their first games.

Year 10s beat EMC 34-8.

Team: Theo Houchin, Matty O’Hagan, Zac Francis, Luke Bufton, Ben Hackney, Finley Houchin, Dan Coupland, Luke Robson

Year 11s beat Hereford Academy 32-23.

Team: Tom Newall, Ethan Fish, James Franklin, Oliver Wallace, Matthew Jordan, Max Arwand, Alexi Panagiotakis.

District Cross Country Championships.

Well done to Leah Jackson and Hannah Lancaster who competed at The Leominster District Cross-Country Championships on Wednesday 11^th January 2017 at Lady Hawkins’ School.


They came 6th and 1st respectively and will now compete at the County Championships on Saturday 21^st January in Bromsgrove.

Storm the Castle

Well done to Amy Powell, Olivia Powell, Aleksandra Kramarz and Hannah Lancaster for successfully ‘storming the castle’.

On Sunday 17^th April the girls competed in a cross country race at Ludlow Castle.

Race info: Approx 3km on a mixture of road, tracks, gravel and grass. The route has a variety of inclines and descents.

The race requires pace judgment and is physically testing in places. Runners begin outside the iconic Ludlow Castle and will be directed anti- clockwise following the Castle walls until a quick descent takes them to Dinham Bridge. After crossing the bridge they will quickly be confronted with the ‘Lactic Ladder’ with its double stage uncompromising steps. They then continue on soft tracks and paths until entering Whitcliffe Common where they complete an extended loop. They now begin to head for the finish including a descent of the ‘Lactic Ladder’, back across Dinham Bridge and the final climb up for ‘The Wall’, a short but steep and aggressive climb and then just when you think it’s over the final 150 m sprint begins towards the castle entrance and into the grounds to Storm The Castle!

Congratulations to Hannah Lancaster for winning the junior event. Olivia and Aleksandra were hot on her heels and finished within 2 minutes of her time.

Cross Country Success

Congratulations to Hannah Lancaster for reaching the National Cross country championships.

Hannah competed at the event on Saturday 5th March 2016

She improved on her position from last year by a massive 50 places. She completed the 4km distance in just over 15 minutes.

She has now been selected for the national cross country championships in March.

Christmas Santa runs

Our annual tradition of mixing Christmas and cross country is well underway. The yr7s have experienced the ‘Santa Runs’  this week for the first time and here is some pictures to prove it.

Following a successful district cross country championships recently these pupils have been selected to represent the Leominster District in the Hereford and Worcester Schools Cross Country Championships.

Junior Girls: Hannah Lancaster

Inter Girls: Amy Reynolds
Inter Boys: Lee Parker, Giovanni Calandra

Race times are as followed:-
Junior Girls: 10:30am

The competition will be held at the Hereford Leisure Centre / Racecourse.


Additional Information
-The course is suitable for spikes/cross country shoes
-There are toilets, changing & refreshments in the nearby Leisure Centre
-Please note there is now a PARKING CHARGE at the Leisure Centre
