Today the group had a go at windsurfing. We started with some warm up games and getting used to holding the sail in the wind. Some board games (not snakes and ladders) were then used to develop the pupils' confidence on the water.

After lunch we then hit the water and started to windsurf. The conditions were very windy which made it very difficult to hold the sail. However, everyone did extremely well and by the end of the day everyone managed to stand up and move. Well done!

UKSA Sailing trip update 3rd October - 7th October 2016

Monday
We arrived at the UKSA, in the Isle of Wight, at around 2:30pm and had a tour of the centre. Once the pupils had settled into their rooms they took part in a selection of problem solving activities.

After dinner, the group then took part in some pool games. This included some relay races, a jumping competition and water polo; a great way to finish the first day.

Tuesday
In the morning we went keel boating and the pupils all had a go at steering the boat and controlling the main sail. The windy conditions meant that their sailing skills were tested and they all did an amazing job.

The afternoon activity was stand up paddle boarding (SUP). This was so much fun because everyone was trying to push others in or avoid getting pushed in. Mr Morris definitely spent the most time in the water! The activity finished with some jumping in.
